Wouldn't it be the most supercalifragilisticexpialidocious experience to be on stage? Wouldn't it be exeptionally thrilling to have people screaming your name, shouting and giving you the standing ovation the moment you breathe into the microphone? Wouldn't it be great?
.....Eh Fik? =)
Anugerah Planet Music 2006 was rocking. And once again (after a long time),
Taufik Batisah showed the world WHY he deserved the title of Singapore's first ever idol. His performance was amazing, I tell you. I'm sure it was amazing on screen, but watching it live, i almost jumped off my seat to salute him. You wouldn't believe it's a local performance....hell, you wouldn't believe it's a local performance
from an anak melayu Singapura.Fik, whether you know me or not, thanks for making my day. =D
And today at cafe, a very interesting topic came up....TRANQUIL INTELLIGENCE. Knowing that most of my fellow beanies are either school dropouts or ITE students, i think it isn't much even if i were to say that i'm one of the educated and more clever people in cafe. But despite that, when you mixed around with different clique..you kinda realised that people mature faster without education.
Honest. And those people I know have this thing i call 'tranquil intelligence'. They gain it without formal and proper education..they gained it from experience...mostly bad, and from there, unknowingly, they become cleverer and wiser than us schooling individuals. They understand, they comprehend, they accept.
Silently, I watched. I see this people...so young, only a year or two older than me...and already holding major post in the FnB line - Floor Managers, Restaurantier, 1st Assistant Manager. I find it amazing. How did they get so far without receiving proper education? How did they get so far when they gave up on school and books halfway in their life? They never crave for commendation and approval. My mere words may not explain human phenomena.
What good, you may ask, then, have these tranquilly intelligent wrought?
They mould their brains through experiences. Discipline may not be in their dictionary, but they know the REAL world more than us. And we talk of not wanting to ruin our future by mixing around with those kids who are supposedly 'on-a-fast-track-to-prison'...but what do we really know of these people? You watch Hanyut, Anak Metropolitan...yeah...you get the gist of it. But THEM, they experienced it first-hand. They know much more than we do.
It's disapppointing. The impression people have on them, i mean. The expression of awe, and sadness that so seldom are the tranquilly intelligent appreciated.
Big sigh.
(Damn. I think i just wrote an essay. LOL.)
