I was typing on my dear darling keyboard when the realisation hit me like a sharp knife - I'm starting school VERY SOON. Oh the horror.

It kinda gets me thinking if i really do want to go back to the endless lectures and homeworks phase. I mean, when adults tell you "Oh, schools great! i wish i could go back and do it again, school days are the best days of your life," you know they're lying through their teeth. I mean, if that person lived on Mount Everest in a small cave, which is sometimes frozen over, with a fully grown yeti for fifty years, i could understand how they would see school as the best days of their life.

I think that when adults use that phrase they must be looking back on their own school days with rose tinted glasses so dark that the lenses are a wine colour. How could school days possibly be the best days of anyone's life? I understand the whole friend thing. The "oh-i-enjoyed-school-because-i-got-to-see-my-friends-every-day" excuse. I understand that, i love my friends to bits, so i get that. But i can think of five million other places to meet friends other that school. For example, the shopping centre, a cafe, cinema, street corner, public toilets, hell. All of those are perfectly good places to meet someone, none of which involve school.

Another greatly used excuse is "Look-where-i-am-now, if-it-wasn't-for- school-i-wouldn't-be-in-this-position". Pardon me, but SCREW THAT. Exactly what position is that? It's either a dead end job, a bad house and a failing marriage, or a great job which this-excuse using person is excelling at. In fact this person is so great that he/she is getting a promotion. This means more money and more time away from the family, putting an extra strain on the already strained relationship with the spouse, who spends all day telling the children that the other parent will come home soon.

*pants*

Sorry. I'm kinda cynical and critical today. I don't want to go back to school. Not unless they pay us for studying.
